A few have mentioned starting a thread based on documentaries, so thought I would start one.

The Cove, perhaps along your aquatic theme.
Loose Change, just finished watching it. It's very interesting.

The House I Live In
So many good ones: King of Kong, Man on Wire, Searching for Sugarman, Grizzly Man, Afghan Star, Spellbound, Project Nim, are all great and pretty popular.
I watched this one a few weeks ago and found it VERY interesting. HOT COFFEE.

My favourite doco: Control Room.
Also strongly recommended: Fog of War, End of the Line, Fast, Cheap, & Out of Control.

These 2 James Marsh docs are superb.

HAND DRAWN 1/1 OG's COMING SOON http://lomierart.blogspot.co.uk/
werner Herzog has made some great, and some really unsettling, documentaries - there is a good list (with links) here http://www.nerve.com/movies/ranked-wern ... st-to-best
not included in this list is Into the Abyss which is really good - about death row - it is/was available on Netflix
also really entertaining are the Lois Theroux documentaries - he does this great wide eyed innocence thing that lets him into some crazy worlds mostly American subcultures like survivalists, white supremacists and pr0n stars, often by living among or close to the people involved - they are really good value.
Dark Days is a great documentary about homeless people living down in the tunnels of the NY underground railway system - again should be on netflix
