He's just breaking my balls because that emo Indiana Jones film about robots he likes was such a box office flop, and Akira had a better voiceover......

Good lord.

That is mind-meltingly awesome!

I wonder what it is? Like, whether it's a Katsuhiro Otomo OG drawing for a comic panel, or one of the pieces by Steve Oliff used as a base for the colorization of the Western serialization of the manga.

Either way, it was very likely handled by Otomo himself at some stage as he sent copies himself to Steve (unless Orliff redrew it to be hand coloured pre-scanning....without checking my references, i forget how the finer minutiae of the localization process went) and that is amazing provenance. Even if it is a trace by Oliff, it's wonderful and very important.

I WANT IT!

Also, great frameup! Hail Further Frames! :notworthy:

Not an Akira fan but thought I would pop in to share something. Skottie Young, one my favorite comic artists, has an Akira sketch up in his shop. Have a look:

The latest is that Christopher Nolan is being tipped to either direct an Akira remake, or at least produce an Akira remake trilogy.
