Also, the Iaccarino seems to be one of the weaker Akira prints IMO. The colors are just weird and since he was basing it off the manga he totally spaced not including Lady Miyako. I mean even the Stout has her in it and she is only in the film for about 10 seconds.

Akira was the first American comic to be entirely colored using computers, and a very experimental exercise at the time.
Orliff is currently selling the covers he hand-colored through his website http://olyoptics.com
Man for an artist, his website is complete dogshit!

Apologies, turns out i am totally tripping
Checked youtube and credits match print - Akira committe production.
drymount.
I think my error stems from an old BBC transmission where they did their own subtitles on a widescreen version in the black letterboxes (instead of superimposed on the image as on a later commercial widescreen release.)
Kinda like how the director is listed as Otomo Katsuhiro occasionally.

My bad.
Nothing wrong with Silence TV after all,so.....ISO!

Yeah it's an amazing piece. Simple, clean, and the red is spot on. If you can't get your hands on the Stout, the Silence TV is a more than suitable place holder.

I used to not like the minimalism/huge white negative space. But it has really grown on me.
But for an 18x24,the price is insane. The one on ebay is nearly £600 at the moment,or over 800 dollars i think. Too close to unobtainable for me,nearly as costly as Stout.

Had not thought about Miyako being missing. :?
Now its all i can see...or NOT see.
Should have scrapped the weird Keisuke on the Caretaker and replaced with Miyako, you're right that it is a terrible oversight:(

No I totally agree, I'm just saying if you can't get the Stout the Silence TV is the way to go until you can get the Stout. The end game being, GET DAT STOUT GURL!

GBD thinks less of anyone who hasn't seen "insert film here that GBD has seen that you haven't." Just put it on your to watch list.

In more defence of the Iaccarino, the colors are more faithful to the comic book version. It shouldn't be judged by the standards of the movie/stout aesthetic

I wouldnt say it was weak though.

Tetsuo and kaori for bottlenecks 'get a room' was weak......
