Rewatched JIGSAW last night on Prime. Hadn’t seen it since the theaters. Tried too hard to be clever and they should have let the franchise rest. Wonder how SPIRAL will turn out once theaters reopen?

Before 2000 picture quality was not good.
But the stories are good.

I don't mind the vintage look of the older films. Technology, cameras, etc. improved over time (hence the better picture quality).

I started a horror blog to keep myself sane during quarantine. If you're looking for something to read, please check it out. I've been writing essays, reviews, and weekly viewing logs.

Watched ROSEMARY'S BABY, THE EXORCIST, and the original THE OMEN recently. I've seen all 3 before multiple times but never enjoyed ROSEMARY'S BABY more than this last turn. Great film! THE EXORCIST, no matter how many times I've seen it, I just can't get in to it. THE OMEN is a decent ride and balanced out my enjoyment of RB and my lack of interest in THE EXORCIST.

picture quality was too low before the year 2000 :D lol!? I guess for my taste nothing beats the golden age of practical effects. Even though it's 40 years old, the effects in the Thing destroy anything in recent memory.

1. John Carpenters The Thing (1982)
2. Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn (1987)
3. Alien (1979)
4. The Fly (1986)
5. Return of the Living Dead (1985)
6. Halloween (1978)
7. American Werewolf in London (1981)
8. Dead Alive - Unrated[/u] (1992)
9. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

But over the last 20 years I would give praise to The Descent, Hills Have Eyes 2006 and a few others.

Finally got around to writing up my Top 10 horror films of the 2010s.
Check it out, & let me know whether you agree. What should have made the cut but didn't? What would *your* list look like?

Cool list. There's a few movies on it that I haven't seen, and I'll check them out. Since I haven't seen those movies, I couldn't say that another movie is better. But I have seen Sinister. That was a really enjoyable flick, I'd give these flicks the nod over it, especially for re-watchability.

It Follows
The Witch
It, Part I
Midsommar

Gretel & Hansel is pretty cool. I heard a lot of things about it, wish I had seen it in theater.

I really liked it seeing it in theaters. One of my early favorites this year before the theaters all shut down.

Want to see Gretel and Hansel too. I liked the director's other stuff like Blackcoat's Daughter.

Saw Come to Daddy last night thought it was good.
