Finn Balor is going to NXT. Can’t say I blame him after the way Raw used him.
I'm gonna say it, it's a demotion and it's a shame. Guy was the first Universal champion, gets injured by Rollins the next night, has to drop it and never gets utilized the same way again. It's a shame as I'm a big Balor fan!

AEW had a very entertaining debut I feel. Looking forward to seeing more. I can't believe I'm watching wrestling on TNT again after 18 years!

Ya I liked AEW. It was a good show. Glad to see Jack swagger again. And I agree Balor never got going after Rollins hurt him.

Probably one of the better Smackdown's I've seen in recent memory (although I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the appearances of The Rock, Tyson Fury, and Cain Velasquez). Glad Brock won the title from Kofi (I was never big on Kofi as a champion - no offense to him). Now the difficult part for WWE: maintaining the momentum.

Also, apparently the ratings are in and they had a big number (even for a Friday night) 3.869, compared to last week's episode on USA, which did a 2.099.

If that opening bit didn’t have you chanting “holy fudge”, well, I am not sure you are a wrestling fan. The Rock and The Man are both in the upper echelon talkers in the history of wrestling. Can you imagine the pop Corbin is going to get next week?

but seriously, it was soooo bad. If you don't want to give the Fiend the title, that's fine. Don't book the damn match.

Oh my god that ending was terrible. A DQ in HIAC?!?!? Did they think the bloody mandible claw was going.to erase the bad taste that match left? Wyatt doesn’t need the belt, put him in there with someone else and let him squash ‘em. The Fiend character can’t be in long back and forth matches and keep his mystique.

They didn't announce it and the announcers didn't help, but it wasn't a DQ. The ref called the match. I don't know if that makes it better or worse.

The positive is, I really liked how they booked the Fiend for the first 2/3 of the match. He was like Jason or Michael Myers. He got some offense in, but he didn't just go in and destroy Seth (btw, the 4 second Kofi squash was almost as bad). The Fiend was unkillable. Seth couldn't keep him down no matter what. I hated how they got there (10+ curb stomps, a pedigree, and all of the weapons), but I loved the "horror movie villain" booking.

they very easily could have avoided all of this by having Fiend absolutely dismantle Seth leave him gasping for air in middle of ring, and then lights hit and he disappears. Fiend does not need title.

Yes, terrible conclusion to your main event. Thought WWE was going to start bringing their A game now with AEW on full assault mode but that decision last night was horrible. This is the kind of thing to turn fans off.

On a side note, I'm glad the Kabuki Warriors are tag champs as I'm a fan of Asuka and Kari (although the women's tag division has been lacking since WrestleMania). Almost seems like they created the titles to appease the women but have done virtually nothing with them (by the way, what happened to Billie Kay and Peyton Royce anyway?). I know Peyton got married recently but is that the only reason why they haven't been on TV much/wrestled?

And as expected, the Smackdown results for week 2 are in and they lost about a million viewers compared to their Fox debut. Although I will say, the writing/entertainment value has been better since the switch to Fox (although a small sample size).

Anyone else see Full Gear last night? Best wrestling PPV I've seen in years! Never been a Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley fan but after his match with Kenny Omega last night, I have more respect for him now. That was one of the craziest matches I've ever seen in my whole life!

Getting ready to watch the last 2 matches. Probably won't watch the rest of it but heard the last 2 were both Grade A matches.

They absolutely were. And that's even after the opening contest. Great PPV from beginning to end. Looking forward to the next!
