The Criterion Collection
Saw Ace in the Hole years ago, and remember enjoying it but not a whole lot else.
I think I just got a lot more excited for this release.
And I'm a Sunset man myself, with Double Indemnity in a close second.

Douglas cracks me up in it. He looks like he's relishing the killer dialogue and really enjoying himself.
Haven't seen Red River, but I'm a Hawks fan. It's been on my list for awhile. Not the biggest John Wayne fan.

You haven't seen Red River? Oh man, get onto it. It's one of my favourite films. Just an absolutely brilliant film. Montgomery Clift gives one of my favourite performances in it.
I thought they were solely doing the DVD/Bluray dual packs now, but Like Someone in Love has a DVD release. Not that I'm going to buy it, but just find it curious.

Just got Thief, Rififi, and Mad Mad World in the mail. Can't wait to watch Theif and the new transfer of Mad.
Been following Wes since Rushmore and that has turned him into my favorite Director working today. Have watched his films more than I can count so this list changes often but as of now it would be.

Go ahead, make my millennium.
I've also never seen Red River, though I love Clift, Ford and Hawks. At this point, I'll wait for the Criterion.

I love The Darjeeling Limited. It's a great film which looks perfect and I prefer a fair bit more than Rushmore. I love the ending of The Darjeeling Limited. Rushmore is good, but I don't love it as much.

All signs point to a flash-sale (50% off for 24 hours) on Criterion's website this Tuesday.
If the prediction's correct, then it'll go up at noon EST. Some times their servers have handled it well, other time not so well.
Never titles (i.e. 2014 releases + probably Zatoichi) will go fast, so be ready.
Right now, I'm planning on picking up the following: Jules and Jim, As the Long Day Closes, Tess, King of the Hill and probably Marketa Lazarova.
Might pick up another one (or two, self control during these things can be... problematic). Collection's linked below- always thankful for recommendations (though note I'm a Blu purist).
