Or Citizen Kane but people are thinking Godzilla because they ToHo would have to announce it, not Criterion or whatever. Either would be cool.

The original version yes, but people are saying a box set with all the Godzilla releases from Toho.

Just a heads up, unsure how long the sale will last but got an e-mail that Criterion titles are 50% off in store and online through Barnes & Noble
Lasts through all of July, so no rush.

Definitely picking up War and Peace and Blue Velvet; after that it’s a pretty huge list that needs to be pared down pretty aggressively.
Today is the last day for the sale (in stores and online), any last minute additions for anyone? What all have you bought during the sale so far?

I finally (shamefully) picked up Brazil(!!!), and also Diabolique earlier in the month, and on a second trip a couple weeks back I splurged and grabbed the new Police Story set and the Lone Wolf and Cub set. Probably will be it for this go-round, but I'm working on a list for the next one.

First Criterion purchases ever for me. I picked up Dead Man, Thief, Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, The Brood, and Videodrome. Really wanted to get Insomnia, but it's sold out online.

Helped picking up a B&N Mastercard - gives a rebate after purchases, plus they sent a $25 gift card after my first purchase.

The LONE WOLF AND CUB set is awesome. You're gonna love it! If you don't have it already, do yourself the favor and also pick up LADY SNOWBLOOD.

Picked up Seven Samurai (to upgrade from my DVD), Police Story and Dressed to Kill. Nearly pulled the trigger on Night of the Living Dead but will save that for the next sale as I still have a couple from the last sale still unwatched.

Thanks, I love the manga, but have only watched Shogun Assassin before. I'm really excited to dig into it. And I do not have that set yet, but I'm putting it on the list!

both those sets and the full 25 movie Zatoichi set are incredible. Some of my favorite Criterion releases.

The LADY SNOWBLOOD set is inexpensive. It's only 2 films and while I'm not much of a fan of the sequel, the original is such a classic and was a big inspiration for Tarantino when he made KILL BILL.
