As far as I understand, they could put out the Welles film as it was part of the original agreement that there would be a physical release down the line. As for Roma, there's rumours of it coming to Criterion as it popped up as 'being discussed' somewhere, but I'm extremely sceptical about that.

I think the whole 'you can't buy these movies at all' is one of things I dislike most about the netflix model.

It depends on what the film is, but the ones they've produced themselves... only on Netflix. Unless you track down an awards screener disc. It's frustrating and mildly obnoxious.

While Netflix isn't going anywhere soon, the fact they keep racking up massive debt concerns me in a lot of ways.

Anyhow... Criterion! Who has been using the Criterion Channel?

Not me. None of the movies they've put out thus far have interested me much. Although this week's selection of WANDA has me mildly interested. Anyone seen it before?

Nope! But I fully intend to give it a watch before it disappears. I've not been as quick to watch them as they've gone up as I know they'll appear down the line. I can't wait for it as it'll certainly help reduce the amount of blind buys I make.

You and me both. Plus, there was still stuff on my queue that I wasn't able to get to before Filmstruck shut down. Only 4 more weeks!

The only thing Netflix went and did interesting physical releases with was Stranger Things. Not sure why just that, wish they'd do a bunch of their films in physical releases...especially the notable ones.

Criterion Channel launches today!!! Am I the only one who's been refreshing the page like a damn drop? I have to go to Jury Duty. Can't wait to get home, check everything out and load up my list with stuff to watch. Hopefully it all goes smoothly.

 :pint:

I've been able to log in and adding movies to my queue via PC. The Roku app wasn't available though before I left work. I browsed a little bit and at first glance, I'm not a huge fan of the layout so far, but movie wise, I'm curious to see everything they have available. Already stocking up on Bergman and others!

I’m logged into the app on my phone, but I’m not seeing an app on my Roku yet. I’m excited to hit up the Colombia Noir collection.
