Just got the e-mail about the Criterion Channel. It'll begin on April 8, with a free 30-day trial. Signed up for the year to save 25% or almost $30.

I hope so. Looking forward to it. Was sad to see FilmStruck go as I wasn't a member that long. Hopefully this is just as good, if not, better.

When are we thinking the next flash sale will be? Today? I've been itching to pick some older stuff up, haven't bought any new Criterions in a while.

Not sure if people are keeping up with the rumours, but the following will likely come to the collection soon:

Funny Games x 2
The Other Side of the World
Bamboozled is confirmed
War and Peace
The Curb

Definitely picking up War and Peace when it comes out. Also picking up Berlin Alexanderplatz as soon as the flash sale goes live.

What is The Other Side of the World? Haven’t heard anything on that one.

Got it; roughly thought it might have been that, but Criterion puts stuff out all the time that I'm completely unfamiliar with so I didn't want to just assume.

Local theater is screening both Police Story restorations in a couple weeks. Plus they’re showing the new Noe film Climax right after. Going to be a long day at the theater!

^That's great news. I didn't know if they would be able to release it since it's a Netflix film. I think this is a first... Hopefully this means Roma will get a Criterion at some point. Hopefully they'll throw They'll Love Me When I'm Dead on the special features.

Blue Velvet baby. Since they seem to be going for as much of the Lynch catalog as possible I hope they get to some of the ones that haven’t been available in the US on blu, like Straight Story or Lost Highway.

Damn, I can’t remember the last time I thought about The Straight Story. I would love to see a blu release of that.
