I'm sure the price was based on how many manhours DD put into the piece and nothing else.
All sold out now anyway, congrats to those who got one and were stoked to support the artist instead of an ebay failipper.

for what its worth, i think the Ansin brazil print is worth twice what hes charging for his copies. why? because its drymounting beautiful.
Hells yes. Bought the print from a great member on here, and just now (!!! I know, I know) watching the movie on Youtube.danieldanger wrote:for what its worth, i think the Ansin brazil print is worth twice what hes charging for his copies. why? because its drymounting beautiful.

I got one of these earlier today, and as someone who wasn't able to make it down to Comic-Con, I was stoked to have an opportunity to obtain one via online drop. Daniel's price was the same as the current average price on EB, and those are not AP copies. Also, as mentioned by earlgreytoast, I get to feel better about myself for giving $ to the artist and not a flipper. Can't wait to see it in person--with the blue color scheme, I'm thinking this one's going to go up next to my ewok-doodled Sanctuary Moon...

Youtube?? This film begs to be seen on blu-ray! Or a 35mm print at a repertory theater, although that's based on availability and the taste of the programmer...RiotAct wrote:Hells yes. DD just responded to what i assume are comments like these on his Facebook (would copy/paste, but won't let me on iPad).artberry wrote:$100 is crazy for this.
Can't this wait till I'm old? Can't I live while I'm young?
danieldanger via facebook wrote: heres my statement on a topic that seems to be a hot point today: what constitutes 'worth' is arguably arbitrary in the art world, but for me in the situation i'm in, its the exclusive knowledge of what i put into a piece. the long days, longer nights, headaches, every single tiny line my hand makes and the aching hands that follow, quality concerns and fine tuning of separations, the best printers in the country, etc. so there is a huge difference between someone saying "that piece isnt worth it" and "i wouldnt pay that much". if i put a price tag on something i really sank myself into creating, it means i think its worth it. if youve given that piece a happy home, chances are you agree. if not, its cool, maybe next time.
who wants to talk about Bane's voice now?
