I bought mine when they went on sale last month, but the one I got was an ap instead of numbered

Lucky you, he probably held some back for damage claims, and didn't refund you right away, hoping to have a few left.

When you have to refund 150+ purchases on an oversell, I'm pretty sure the few APs can be considered spoken for.
Not that Esao usually have a separate sale for the APs anyway.
