Did no one see the movie?
cheap ugly images with no intellectual depth
bought his way onto the scene and is awful at it.

They do so much with just the notes that they have. I mean who does that? Who messes with that kind of stuff?

I'm debating on this one, really. It's pretty cool. However, I say that from the context of never really scoping MBW's previous works. I did see the movie and I thought he was a huge cockgobbler...but I've got to say, if you look at this one piece of art from a nonbias perspective, it's kind of loud and obnoxious. Kind of like me.

Wanting to PB for someone just so you can see the print in person? That's a new one.

Have No Fear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The Nation is Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't get me wrong, I hate a lot of his stuff but did enjoy the movie and banksy's comments made me laugh. But taking iconic images and "touching them up" however small is still creating something new. Thats what art is. It just so happens that he hung out with the right people and got lucky doing it. And if you have seen his gallery's, some of his setups are pretty cool.Bakedbeens wrote:Did no one see the movie?

The movie was interesting. I liked it. I just didn't like him. Yes, technically it is art and no, I haven't been able to see one of his gallery installations. I guess I've been kind of harsh on him. Just jealous I guess since I feel like I could have done that given the leg up that he had. I harbor no malice, I just don't understand his following. It's kind of a mirror of popular society, which is the point of pop art. sigh. More power to him if peeps are willing to pay it. Just doesn't seem worth it if you're buying it to appreciate the images.
