Ughh i got excited when i saw the email then i saw the release date and reality hit me that i won't get paid until next Wed. I guess i'll just have to wait for the aftermarket because no way this isn't selling out in less than a day. Hope everyone scores one who wants it, amazing piece :drool:

What were the run numbers of Keyes' last prints?

$350 seems a bit high for me for a big run of 350.

Which is good news for fans. There's no doubt that $350 is a lot for a giclee with a run this big in this market. I think this price is a good number to keep flippers at bay.

I have always wanted to get into Keyes stuff because I love animals and he does some nice work but $350 for a run of 350 is crazy imo. Yes that cuts out flippers but that also cuts into fans and collectors. Too rich for me

I will get into Keyes one day...when I'm rich.

I hear what you're saying charter, but if this print were $200, it would be in the hands of 100 fans eventually, but the flippers would be out in force and most of those fans would be buying on the secondary market for around $350 either way. At $350 I think this one will be up awhile. Dunno if I'll be able to afford it either.

$350 is not bad for a 4 foot x 2 foot print

thats $3.02 per square inch. take say an 18x24 with the same per sq. inch price tag and that comes out to about $100, which is a fairly average poster price. the quality of the printing and paper comes into play, the paper he uses is quite expensive. and also he is another year more popular. a calendar year which saw his paintings climb from 12.5k up to 17.5k so be thankful josh even does prints and allows his fans the oppurtunity to hang his work without being a millionaire.

more popularity = more $$

Speaking from experiencing the bill when my Sowers was framed I hope to get one but have no plans to frame it immediately . I do think it would look insane framed and hope some do so right away

I have Sowers framed and that was punch to the wallet for sure. I really don't know if I have room for another framed print the size of Sowers, but I sure as hell want to add this to my collection. I'm glad I already have the 60 inch long foamboard I used to flatten Sowers.

Run size and price is totally fair for this print. It's huge for one thing and the edition size is large enough that the people who really want a print this large should be able to get it without needing to rob a bank. This is the same price as Sowers and this print is same length but taller. So it's technically an even better deal than Sowers. Also, this one is being published by Josh himself so you know he's going to want perfect quality on all of these. So I'm totally excited about this release.

Definitely going for this. This print framed up in a thick, box, white frame with Sowers next to it will set a room off nicely. Plop a life sized, stuffed killer whale in between the two and you will have a party room, which equates to chicks coming over.

There's really not that much more you need to know about the "investment side" of this (now practice your patience, people).

Personally, I would have loved for this to be the "exact" same size as Sowers, to make it possible to swap frames on them, but naturally, the piece itself is a different size, so...

I’m conflicted on this one! One of my favourite images of the year but literally have nowhere to store this, even my monster A0 portfolio is not up to the task

. And I’m not leaving something like this rolled up for months until I have room/money to frame it. Think there will be one less here in the fight at the drop, so good luck to all going in.

Hopefully I can pick it up at a decent price or trade a bit further down the line.
