from a curiosity perspective, I've seen this before. How are you able to identify a bot purchase vs. non-bot purchase?
pay via paypal, use credit card,file dispute at the 20 day mark if suspicious. don't deal with noobs. don't trade with noobs. request feedback ahead of time. there are lots of good people 'round here.

I believe the store can see how long it takes you to process the transaction and it can tell if it's processed in 3 seconds it's probably a bot vs a human. who knows.

and from a customer perspective, if the inventory loads on your computer and you have decent internet speed but the item is sold out already, then it's likely been botted

The biggest tell is ip address not near billing address. Anyone trying to buy more than one is using a data center proxy to route their traffic through.
