"After much thought and deliberation"..... we realized we can milk it and make a bunch more money by placating all the whiney, entitled fans by watering down the release with a low quality, mass produced edition.
Well Jerry's family. They are probably hurting right now during all of this this.
yeah its shitty nothing going to charity. Masthay seems like a cash grabber though. Anyway i was at work and missed the LE so this will have to do for me. I love the image. I'll throw cheap frame on it and hang it somewhere

I can’t with people calling gig poster artists cash grabbers during this unprecedented time. Gimme a drymounting break. Take a lap crujo.

I’ve known AJ since his Oysterhead and TAB prints and to say “Masthay seems like a cash grabber” is way off base and the furthest from the truth. This decision to have a timed giclee edition was by Trixie or JGF and not AJ. GDP and Jerry’s foundation are masters of merch and have been doing things like this for decades. So while I’m not surprised by them cashing in on a great image by AJ, pointing any blame at the artist is off base and unwarranted. IMO, The Garcia site should have informed buyers before the letterpress drop that there was an open giclee edition coming. But I bet this decision was made post haste
Makes ya wonder why they didn’t do timed on the sperrys. Maybe Chuck said no? Or perhaps they just became aware that timed editions were a thing. Luls.

OK thats great. He made bootleg phish prints for years. I'm sure he likes the $$ and he should. Sorry i hurt your feelings. That is funny that you think they should have told you the giclee was going to be released before they released the letterpress.applehead wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 1:50 pmI’ve known AJ since his Oysterhead and TAB prints and to say “Masthay seems like a cash grabber” is way off base and the furthest from the truth.
