Leaves to much meat on the bone for all the dolphins out there.

I agree. These should have been $150 to $200.

Hoping they will go down once the wave of butthurt has died down. If not, oh well only a mediocre print.

first print i've tried for in well over a year. would love to have gotten one to match my original Avengers. I guess I'll have to pick one up on the secondary when the price settles. lol @ people paying $300+ already on a run of 1100.

Not sure why he doesn't charge those prices. He must know if they were $200 or $300 each they would still all sell out. Plus more people who actually want them will get to buy them and those who were looking to flip would be less. Right?

You'd think... not really sure what Stouts' deal is with that. Wish he would give his thoughts.
He doesn't release a ton of stuff each year; and when he does, it sells out instantly. Has for years now. And then most end up on ebay or in FS threads looking for ~400% mark up each time. And that's just average. I don't know of many other artists out there who leave that much available for the flippers on a constant basis. Very odd. I didn't even try for this and don't collect movie posters... just crazy watching all of you today.

He tries his best to look out for his fans. It may be to his detriment, it may be taken advantage of by flippers and all that, but it's the reason why he tries to do a lotto instead of a drop, it's why he doesn't do event exclusive stuff as much (at least without an option for people who can't attend things like SDCC), it's why he's given some nice pieces in his archives for charity-based reasons. He's a nice guy.

Not sure I would want to see higher prices, the flipper markup would then be higher too.

Is there a reason he doesn't sign gallery releases? I mean, even the cast edition isn't signed. Who gives a print to Iron Man unsigned???

Most of the time galleries/companies just want the prints shipped directly to them. Sending to the artist for signing then back to the gallery adds another expense and another layer of potential damage. Heck even on his blog he states he doesn't let people send him prints to sign anymore because of potential shipping damage (look at the Durieux PF variant situation, got signed by folks but ended up damaged in transit). Since places like HCG and Mondo aren't exactly places he lives right next to, not like he can just stop on by either.

We need more second-guessing of Stout in here. He's clearly doing things wrong.

Can't believe I got this one. It happened to drop during a ten minute staff meeting break when I checked on my phone. Never would have thought I'd successfully order a Stout on an iPhone.

Was the demand for this less because the movie was only average (at best)?
