Interesting to see one of JKs paintings translated into "3D".
The note on the bottom of the release image states that this is a prototype; so I am curious to see the what the 'finished product' will look like.

Yeah, on the prototype, the head of the cub is looking up, but on the painting/print, it's looking down ... will be interesting to see what changes.

edit to add, the interview is a decent read ... he may do more of these and Thunder was on a list of potentials, I think that would look great in this form.

I'm interested to see whether or not they enlarge the submerged portion of the elephants body. I think that could look weird in this medium. Or it may not. Definitely one of those two options.

way over-priced imo. nice, but not worth more than 100. looks like an expensive paperweight. i can buy the print for that price. i'll save my $$ for december

That right there will probably be what keeps me from buying one. Why not just wait and have the sale in 3 months?

^^ - they must have slipped that detail in - because I cant recall seeing that when the details were first released earlier on. Still keen though - but that length of lag time between a sale and delivery is getting into Laminate Most Wanted territory.

Probably using the proceeds to finance the manufacture. Also, when you can reasonably estimate that it will sell out now or in 3 months regardless, wouldn't you rather have the cash now than later? Time value of money and all.

Pretty common on vinyl toys to have a decent chunk of time in between purchase and manufacturing and delivery.

Yup, isn't the 3A wait time like 6 months sometimes?

I think it's great that Josh is branching out and trying some new mediums. I'm sure it helps to keep the art fresh to him and look forward to seeing more of these.
