It’s a pass for me (though a nice print), but if anyone is buying:

gig posters are generally for people who attend - this concept is just flawed
what you describe, shouldn't even need a date to Milk
slowly changing from a hobby to a beanie baby collapse - the number of foils testifies

Horseshit opinion. Look at the most iconic gig posters. How many people you think were actually at those shows who own those prints? 5% at best.
The Kiss is one of my all time favorites, and I’m a cat lover. This is perfect. Can’t wait to see the 3 I got in person. Thinking silver foil will be my fave with the cat face in substrate.

you buy everything
privileged guy opinion
and that isn't really a comparison - do you think these will be sought after in a year?
people buying old gig prints collect gig prints not modern day repros but some people like fake magnets etc
love to throw mud sir

I think GDM are whores and will give their licensing to anyone. The amount of GD themed dreck pumped out courtesy of Bottleneck in the last few years has polluted the biosphere of gig art for a lifetime.
I love Todd Slater's work A LOT and at least his stuff decent. Sperry phoned in one of his chick templates and is an example of how pointless this tribute stuff can be. Also the folks at bottleneck seem like nice guys but a little more discretion on what makes it out into the wilderness would be nice.
Some of Rick Griffin's best work were tributes/after the show gig posters like his Who dung beetle, GD shrine or Zappa posters but those are mind blowing which none of the contemporary examples even come close to.
