This thread has 19 posts...in what 2-3 months of being active? Sadly, it does not make sense to host here currently. If there had been 190 posts here in the last two months. I would have admitted I was incorrect and apologized for moving it to Facebook.

I bet you, if here was the only place to participate, this thread would have been on FIRE :spocth2:

There is nothing to apologize for talkingdeads. I think it is awesome the club is continuing on in some capacity. You deserve praise for your commitment of time and your personal finances to keep things going! If the goal is to expose Sir Horkey's art to a broader range of people, I guess I would say mission accomplished. I'm certain that many of the same people who were THC members that started on eBeans, made the switch.

I also understand why you moved. eBeans was in dire straits a few years ago. The site was going offline and inconsistent. That caused the number of active members and traffic to plummet. I'm thankful a new board stepped in to stabilize and improve Expresso Beans, but the damage was done.

That doesn't mean I don't like Aaron's work anymore. By the time I saw your post, it was too late for me to pull my prints and take a new picture. I missed all the posts and seeing people's cool collections and art projects inspired by THC. That doesn't make the pain of missing this year's /droolworthy  edition any easier.

My beef with Facebook is my own. I don't like the company. I think it is a toxic shithole, set up to track you, serve you a timeline to keep you on Facebook, with the express purpose to sell you fudge you don't need. So when THC went there, my personal choice was not to join you. Facebook is just not my thing man.

One thing about moving to Facebook that surprises me is that while you certainly generate more traffic, the number of people who qualify for THC hasn't grown significantly. The edition size of this year's print was only 123. That is quite a bit less than in the heyday here despite being able to reach a broader audience. Are you seeing a lot of new blood and new names based upon the prints you are sending out? Just curious.

Peace and love

I don't like Facebook either, but it is the easiest platform, to herd cats on, that the majority of people in the art demographic are familiar with.

I thought about hosting a website, but I'm a lazy

Also, this year's print was capped at 123 due to limited supply of the handmade 100 year old paper that was used for the stock.

I have a long list of people that wished to be alternates if someone decided to duck out on their print. Participation was not the limiting factor

I pretty much dropped out once it moved to Facebook too. I stopped logging into Facebook regularly like 3 years ago and don't miss it one bit. Now I might login maybe once every 6 months if I remember. I really miss being able to participate in all of the art groups I belong to on there, but I absolutely hate feeding Facebook's algorithm.
