Hey folks, if you've not already joined "The Horkey Club" group on Facebook, I would encourage you to so so. Festivities have kicked off. Almost missed it myself.

Can't do Facebook. I love Aaron's work, but Facebook can go eff itself.

Good luck this year Deads! Keep the THC spirit rolling in Horktober :D

Remember when Tapecat used to make those insane Horkey-themed pumpkins? Cool stuff.

I hate FB. I hate everything about it.
yes, I have an account, but I haven't logged for anything except for looking at Horkey in years.

But, I will be attempting to put together a Horkey giveaway on FB for my entry into THC 2020 this year. Anyone interested, keep your eyes on that page. Hopefully ill find time to organize something.

Posted this riddle for the horkey club:
still unanswered: correct guest will get your name on the horkey club list if any beaners want to try

One guess per person, must include reason

Born along with a bang in the oceans,
leaving thousands dead
Never another Quagga seen
a single arachnid survived the dread

Decades passing by in use
Provender waving to the seven sisters bed
‘til the day their traveling companion drops,
Raindrops kept falling on my head,
Perishing the year the singing stops.
Fields left fallow due to dead.

What print/poster by aaron horkey is this riddle for?

incorrect guesses so far: nunavut, whale bone grove, ghengis tron, detritus, croatoan, only death is real, 7 Scorpions, Daughters, Black Lake, Eryops Rising, Pelican, and Gaping Maw

For some reason Isis Shades of the Swarm comes to mind.

Edited to put reason:

-Oceans reference Oceanic album

-Decade reference on poster 1997-2007

-And then looking on wikipedia for further support, death reference to singing that the band broke up as they did not wish to be faced with the possibility that it would "push past the point of a dignified death".

I don't know the answer, but it made me browse through all of Aaron's listings on eBeans again. I enjoyed doing that

What print/poster by aaron horkey is this riddle for?
If this isn't referring to Aaron Horkey's famous, "Glen Campbell/Don McClean Boomer Live Revival" concert, then perhaps is something like this.

I think the riddle might be about a shell. Why?

Seven Sisters is a Coastline in the English Channel (formed in "Upper Cretaceous Period. During this period the dinosaurs died out and the evolution of birds as we know them began.") is made of sedimentary limestone chalk which according to the internet, "Chalk is made up of the calcite remains (or coccoliths) of marine algae which died and fell to the bottom of the sea to be reworked by burrowing animals and currents. It also contains marine fossils including bivalves, ammonites and sea urchins."

This shell in the riddle was the armored helmet worn by a blind bird at war with black ospreys.
The shell's traveling companion, the bird, died in a field a long time ago. The dead bird is not singing anymore and the remains in the open field can be rained upon.

So shell, dead bird remains, field . . . there are a few possibilities, but the ones that check the most boxes for me are Converge Minneapolis 04 or Hoarfrost. There are a few others like Cable and Boris that have shells and fields or bird remains, etc.

If I had to pick one, I'll pick my favorite of the four, Hoarfrost. That is a damn-cool poster I would still love to add to my collection. I wish that stupid Mondo puzzle would show up, but it was delayed. :(
