Then we’ve got David Welker’s Welker Studios 2.0 grand opening on June 1st. David’s studio is now located directly next to Bottleneck Gallery, and we’re taking this opportunity to welcome both him and his wonderful fans to the new neighborhood!

BNG Blog wrote:We’ve got a new neighbor: David Welker! David recently relocated his art studio to Brooklyn, and we’d like to welcome him, and all of you, to the neighborhood with a brand new Open House!

Despite the big move, David’s been pouring his time into a multitude of new pieces, and he’s incredibly excited to share them with all of his fans. The new studio is filled to the brim with David’s work, both old and new, and we’re excited for everybody to take a look around!

Here are the details for the event--all times listed below are in ET:

-Doors to Welker Studios, located at 60 Broadway, will open Saturday (6/1) @ 2PM. The show will run until 6PM.
-Due to the new location, camping is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. To make it fair for all attending, we’ll be implementing the following process:
-We will have a sign-in sheet on Friday (5/31) from 12PM to 6PM; and on Saturday (6/1) from 8AM until doors open.
-For people arriving on Friday 12PM ET, we will hold a lottery at 12:30PM ET to determine your position for making a purchase at show’s opening. Please be advised that you will have to return at 1PM ET on Saturday (6/1) to join the entry line. Orders will be taken in sequential number order! If you are not present when your number is called, you will forfeit your place in line and must go to the back of the line in order to purchase anything.
-Each person will receive a ticket after signing in. ONE ticket per person, and you CANNOT sign in other people.
-David Welker will be in attendance throughout the event.
-Refreshments will be served!

Sorry I might just be slow. But:
We will have a sign-in sheet on Friday (5/31) from 12PM to 6PM; and on Saturday (6/1) from 8AM until doors open.
but the lottery is:

Soo. What is the point of the sign up sheet outside of that first half hour starting at 12PM? It's first come first serve after that and everyone that signed up between 12-12:30 is randomized?

I may have just answered my own question by typing it out. But is that how you all understand it too?

Yes, the first half hour is randomized as they want to avoid people camping out for priority spots in the line. After 12:30 it'll be first-come first-serve and they'll go through the list sequentially.

Wish all of these were done that way. Makes way more sense and better for everyone.

It’s New York not Austin you can’t have the homeless lined up in front of a gallery in the city for a week w out complaints and prolly lots of them. I think the lottery’s appropriate :D

I agree. Wish Mondo would change their policy.

bbq. you're just saying that because you hate camping. which is a normal response to crazy extended camp sessions.

but those are mostly for OGs. Print shows at mondo rarely have sell outs opening night.
