Probably so.
Mike Mitchell's Thread of Amazing Things
Actually ... yes he is.
The next step in the Visitor roadmap is "the recycler" where you basically give back 2 (or more) visitors for another single visitor. A 2 for 1 swap this time around and future recycler events may be 3 for 1, 4 for 1, etc.
These are previews of the new Vistors.
I'm just the messenger I do not condone Mike's behavior

They are going to be completely new compositions. And to help people know the difference they will be facing the opposite direction.brewdog123 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 2:51 pmi still dont understand what he is doing with the new fatbirds? they will be reimagined drawings of his most sought after fatbirds, facing the other direction? any one clarify?
So now for instance if you have always wanted a Cardinal, but can't afford $800, now there will be a completely new Cardinal you can get.
Similar with other older birds that there was very few ever made of. Should be win win. New collectors can get a cool bird, old collectors can have new version of these classic birds. Mike can release something that there is a ton of demand for and that he enjoys making.
sounds like a doyle in the making.
just funny to redo birds when there are over 10k species on earth to draw. sounds like another 10k NFT fat pfp idea. heard it here first.

How is this like Doyle at all? He isn't reusing any art or reprinting anything. He is making completely new prints.
It would be like getting upset with Edmiston when he made a second Halloween print thats the same scene from a different angle. It's still completely new art. Oh well I get it, some people are going to be upset no matter what Mike does.
I think peeps would be upset (or at the very least side-eyeing) if it was essentially the exact same image of Michael Myers redrawn at a mirror image in a likely much larger edition size.

yes, mike is getting ragged on for not being creative. instead of going forward he's regurgitating stuff he did years ago he knows is popular and in demand. similar to what doyle did when he started reprinting stuff.BENYOUNG20 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 6:14 pmHow is this like Doyle at all? you seem very upset and irritated by people's comments on here ragging on mike. i really have 0 cares what mike does or his business. i like the fat birds i bought in the past. the values of those prints don't concern me, its money spent. i even though his bastard birds were great for a bit.
more than anything its sad to see an artist get washed up and loose all their creative juices. i mean i'm sure he can make a few more runnnig boxes with a few more animals inside them. sloths anyone?

No one is making the exact same mirror image. But if you want to see that check out Edmistons Top Gun eyes, you know the variant where he signed the bottom instead of the top....
This.
Not that I care. I do have a bunch of birds, including 8 on the walls currently, more in frames, a few frames ready for more, and a few more birds, lol (those frames have been ready for a few years now though). I haven’t bought a bird in a couple of years, maybe longer. Stopped buying because how many birds does a guy need, timed editions, 500 or whatever runs, etc. Not that there is anything wrong with any of those. If he kept going with smaller runs, maybe with occasional large run, I’d probably have them all except for the first few I missed. But they seem to sell regardless if I am a buyer or not, so who cares. But it is even less likely I’d buy one in the future with this doyled/notreally stuff.
