That was fast!

Are the colours dull or is it just a pic?
Mine's still flattening, and the light isn't perfect, but the colors don't seem dull. After seeing it in person, I like the print job on it as much as Empathy reg. (Image wise, Empathy still has the edge)

The picture isn't great because it was a quick snap with my phone, and I didn't think to turn the lights on in the room it is in.

I was looking at other Sperry prints, and it doesn't look like he uses straight lines for shading/depth in older prints like he did in this one.

Empathy, Harmonia, Mavericks, definitely all have shading lines.

How much older are we talking about?

The most recent two I posted (don’t recall posting any other ladies recently or otherwise):

I guess my eyes are just getting old.

I have empathy and harmonia blotter but was just looking at pictures on here, and I guess I didn't notice it.

the flowers do not appear to be as vibrant/dark or strong as the jpeg below. especially the red. also from the image, the dark blue vines are more light purple

The blue vines being purplish irl is also the case with Empathy now that you mention it. I don’t have a strong opinion about it either way. Both solid prints.

Hard to tell from the pics, but the colours seem to be more vibrant on Empathy than this one, when compared to theirs jpegs. In reality, they are probably about the same. The dark blue is definitely purple though.

Going back to shadow lining, I snapped a couple more pics of the last Black Keys posters:

I think I noticed it first as something different on the Democracy print. Not sure if Chuck did it before 2019. If I recall correctly, it was even briefly discussed here when the Democracy print was posted. Briefly as in 2 or 3 posts, but given the level of activity on the site, one may say it is quite a bit, lol.

Bubbie and ryan9— regarding the diagonal shading, the first I noticed it was the Democracy print, as you already pointed out bubbie. I guess Chuck has been experimenting with new shading techniques since then. Generally I think it’s working great. However, it’ll be tough to outrival the beauty of say Erato which only shows some subtle, pointillist shading in the face combined with other dramatic shading in solid black shapes that reveal a glimmer of the floral pattern beneath.

^ I agree, both are cool in their own way. Not sure which I prefer myself.

Is it normal to only get PayPal receipt and no order confirmation from chuck himself?

yes, I believe this is normal. it's been a few years since I had much luck on Sperry drops but I recall only getting paypal receipts

Chuck's the man and usually all over shipping quickly.
