Seems the link thing might have some truth to it...

Yeah, so here's what happened. It is not an inside job. At best, just poor organization.

1. fans.live shares link A to its product collection on social media
2. people go to the link, see the poster, click it. Go to product page.
3. People share product page link B all over social media
4. fans.live admin guy comments on multiple different fan group pages, reminds them the product link -- link B -- will change and to use link A at drop time to find it, and not link B
5. People continue to visit and share link B
6. Drop happens, people refreshing both link B and link A. Link B gets disabled. And now people going to it get 404.
7. Print sells out from bots, and a few people refreshing link A, which took them to new product page link C to cart and purchase.
8. People complain there was an inside job changing the link at the last minute.

The real kicker here -- they likely just changed the shopify handle, not the actual product ID. So people who carted it earlier by its ID could just buy anyway once the stock changed. So ironically -- this whole page changing thing, yet again, did not benefit anybody except those who understand how shopify works.

Curious, how would you cart it earlier via the product ID?

if it was a new listing / URL.... 99.9999% chance it was a new product ID. just autogenerated by shopify.

what is the name of the sperry group? i won't be able to join it anyway as mickey lipp blocked me years ago (can't even remember why).... but as others have said "drymount that guy".

It was not a new product ID.

Count me as another who can't get into these groups because I am blocked by Mickey. I don't even remember why.

same... I mean I remember seeing him around in groups but I don't think I ever interacted with him.

thinking maybe I asked him if he needed a boost up so he could see all the art hanging on the walls at a gallery show sometime or something. because he's a little guy.
