Only you can decide if it’s worth it to you. But I will say that a decent wood image will definitely retain its value, and things ain’t getting cheaper.
I'm quite new as a collector and I'm always afraid trend will pass and in 10 years no one will remember the artists of my prints. For 200$ I can live with it, for 2000$ it's a different story. When I think that for 40k I can buy a decent Andy Warhol print, 2k as release price seems quite excessive to me.
From the artist’s POV, Sperry/Hangar 18 has been at or near the high water mark in printed gig art for over a decade. Whatever happens to the wider market, his work will always sit amongst the cream of the crop.

I can see being skittish as a new collector over dropping $2K though. To which I say: buy cheaper stuff from emerging artists you like. Also, don’t collect if you’re in it for the return- that’s what flipping is for.
just a foil for me today, thanks

really just not asking the right question, do you like the art? can you afford the price? if both are yes thats your answer.

Amazing. Great selection of new release panels, archive panels, and test prints/rare prints. For the most part everything was priced under market value, and in some cases way under. An allocation of gems were pretty much held back for every time slot so everyone had a fair chance to buy something great.

yeah, was a great show. really enjoyed talking with Chuck for a long time. Good stuff available and at good prices. Think there was only 15ish people in my time slot with a bunch of stuff available.

I forgot to take a single photo but plenty of folks on FB documented the whole show. I’m sure someone on forum here captured the show, so giddy up!
