cant say that squirt has ever used lava foil or sparkle foil. they are something that everyone else is trending out. i dont see that squirt would make that choice though. $.02.

Chuck has used sparkle foil and mirror foil on his 2011 WSP 25th anniversary prints, they are the variants of course :) I have a sparkle foil hanging up in my hall way, awesome print...

funny to see all the FB fan boys fawning over the lava foil .... it looks atrocious and does nothing for the image (actually detracts from it). i can't recall a print where i actually thought it enhanced the image. extremely distracting. chuck's variant papers are usually on the subtler side.

but .... zomgz foil!

Oh, absolutely. I wasn't saying it was a cash grab by Chuck.

If you happen to get one of these, please post a pic. I'd like to hate you for the weekend!

Wave/sparkle foil is fugly. However, don't like it, don't buy it (part of me wishes everyone would stop buying). Do not see why Chuck wouldn't have chosen these. The last Who variants were on the fugly ass paper, including the sparkle.

Chuck still prints all of his stuff. He could of said no to variants. Ken didn't print them or out a gun to his head. If you use the cash grab saying here, everyone involved is to blame, including Chuck.

But honestly calling it cash grab is just dumb. He has had variants for almsot every print like this, par for the course. Not a cash grab by anyone.

Surprised to see no gold opal variant for Vivien. Reg or silver would be my choice.

Looking forward to going to the Art Market later today. Hopefully I'll be able to score a regular at least and see what other Sperry Oak panels Spoke has.

Just got back from Art Market SF :D

Ended up with the silver variant (surprised there was no line out the door when I got there 15 minutes before opening)

Here are the 3 oak panels that were on Spoke's wall:

Semele was sold out last night  (thought I had a chance since I was one of the first people in line today...)

As for the Vivien oak panels, Spoke were allocating 4 today, so probably 4 tomorrow and another 4 on Sunday. Also, for those of you who are PBing for others - Spoke limited each customer to either ONE Vivien print (either variant or reg) or ONE oak panel.

I would assume variants would be all sold out this weekend - a lot of people went for the foils. I could see the regular Vivien showing up on Spoke's site in the future.
