I was like 4th in that line. Loved the flipper ahead of me. Didn't even get a chance to look at a single piece on the walls, b/c he was too busy running to be first in line, so he could then run across town to '88, so he could buy prints from Bruce Yan to flip. I never really realized how hard they work/how much time they put in. In a way, I almost respected it a little....mainly just for the effort. But, it didnt seem easy on him.
That might have been me. I was first in the print line behind the VIP guy. I went straight to the counter, mostly because I didn't want to wait in a longer line. I immediately left and put the print in my car.
However, I came right back and hung out for awhile and got some of my all time favorite comic covers signed. I spent a bunch of time checking out the preview so it was really nice seeing the work up close. I went to the Yan show a little bit later but didn't get anything. Will also definitely be framing the Ruas print, love the detail. Granted it could have been someone else but hope that clears it up!

Terrific giveaway print and print for sale too. Just beautiful.
Sums my feelings up, on all counts.
I'll be going back on a week day when there are no crowds, so I can gawk without distraction. Said a quick hello to congratulate him on the show and to get some show cards signed too. Very nice person.
Amazing, mind-bending work.

Disappointed because it sold out? I wasn't surprised that most were gone but I wasn't expecting all of them to go before the opening.

I want one but yeahhh.... that's a bit pricey for what it is. Maybe I'll shoot him an email and see if if has any extras.

I'm just another nobody to Joao. Just saying it can't hurt to email (aka: bother) him about it. I figure by the 7th email he'll either block me or send me a book so I finally shutup.

Ruas is currently at work on his large-scale canvas for Thinkspace’s curation of ‘Project M/4’ with Urban Nation in Berlin, Germany. This special mural project takes place in tandem with our pop-up exhibit ‘LAX / TXL’ taking place across the street from the Urban Nation building (exhibit runs May 17th - July 12th)
