Cheers, thanks for the kind words. And yeah, I particularly don't like being pigeonholed into a particular style or subject matter. I'm influenced by soooo much stuff and want to learn as much as I can for as long as I can. I don't mind being known as "the beard guy" or the "house head guy" or the "remain dapper guy", but It's not all that I have up my short sleeves :)

Is it a faux pas to ask the meaning or the inspiration Zach?
No, it's not faux pas at all. The inspiration is obviously Alphonse Mucha / Art Nouveau, with several touches of where I live. The bird is the Carolina Wren which is South Carolina's state bird, and the magnolia flowers and leaves (up top) are a native tree around here, and they're just beautiful in person. I think it's actually mississippi's state tree which is where my great grandmother (who was an oil painter) is from. When given the opportunity to do whatever I wanted to do with little to no limitations from the Half and Half I couldn't help thinking of what I'd love to hang in my house, or what others may enjoy hanging in theirs. With all the time I needed to work on it, I really wanted to focused on composition, subject matter, details and patience to work through those issues as they arose.

Thank you all for your purchase of the print and the kind words and questions you've had for it! I can't wait to see what other artists the Half and Half works with on their artists' series.

Thank you all for your support on the Magnolia release! That was a ton of fun and that is a beautiful frame up!!

I've got another project that I'm doing with my good long time friend Jacob Johnson. If you don't mind giving this here kickstarter a look see-

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/14 ... ays-django

If you're like Jake and Me and love Django Reinhardt's music then please consider backing. There are only 3 left of the hand gold leafed edition too, so if you'd like one of those I'd def. jump on it today or tomorrow.

For $30 you get a vinyl record, a 12 x 12 3 color screen print (signed and numbered)... I mean... that's a doggone steal. Here's a look at the artwork for the prints-

And here's what the shirt should look like

Thanks a million, I hope all of you are well!

I was looking through my prints as I'm currently downsizing a hell of a lot and I ran across this gem (please don't judge me on the waviness that I'm currently flattening out):

Image

If anyone recalls, way back when (I guess only about 3 years ago or so but it's amazing how long ago it feels) Spoke Art in NYC did a Scorsese Tribute and Zach contributed his "Enoch" piece (http://spoke-art.com/collections/scorse ... drum-enoch) based on Enoch "Nucky" Thompson from Boardwalk Empire. Zach asked me for some help regarding the show which he wound up not needing, but he sent me this anyway. He planned to do a run of prints using the image, but had trouble with printing them so it never happened. This was one of those attempts. Still looks pretty damn awesome to me.

I've drifted away from collecting and art in general, but if all I had left from the years of time and money spent on buying prints was Zach's work, I'd call it time and money well spent.

And Zach, if it's not cool that I'm sharing the image, let me know and it shall disappear!
