His older works are different. My favorite Esao era is 2000 to 2008. His current style feels a bit more "fluid" - I'm not saying that as a criticism, it's no less imaginative and original. But I sure do wish I could get my hands on some of the older stuff... they seem to pack more finer detail per square millimeter than the newer works. I had the opportunity to buy classics like The Thinker, The Rider, Monsoon, and many more. But I was earning much less in 2005 and therefore unable to afford too much. Still, I managed to acquire a few good ones. Here's the original Finch #2. The painting is only 7" x 10" in size, probably smaller than the print. My very first original.

Not really. His newer fudge is way better.

I agree. Esao's early work is quite good, but somewhere around Remy's Ascension, his technique started improving quickly. The Sea Villas series was another creative milestone, and he has been on fire ever since.

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of the level of fluidity in his newer works. It's not so much cleaner as it is more cohesive, with the color elements working a bit better for my tastes.

One of my biggest non-purchasing regrets is passing on one of those Sea Villas from source. Someone talked me out of it. Oof.

I dunno I had a Sea Villa OG and out of the three paintings I own by Esao that was the one I decided to sell. I prefer his more subtle pieces tho he sure does paint a mean ocean.
