So what were the reasons for such a small border? Is there an advantage?
That's how they print Audrey's prints and I believe it's so you can just frame it with spacers and no mat and the border won't be visible and you're not covering any of the image either. That's how AK's artist framed prints come and they look fantastic. I actually much prefer the small border. Hope they keep it up.
If you plan to frame this with no mat what type of frame would go well with this image. I've looked around, but can't really find one that really catches my eye.

Yup. I told Esao I was really glad Static Medium and him switched it up for thin borders and he said he was happy about it as well, so it's a good sign! This will look great with no mat and no white border to distract from the image. I can see an ornate frame around it.

All of my AK prints have ornate black/dark brown frames with clear spacers and no mat. Here's a pic I posted in the AK thread the other day. The glare sucks, but you get the idea.

Nice AKs.

I kinda liked the old debossment he did on the thicker borders but this will be easier to frame. I'm thinking an slightly distressed wood stained frame would work particularly well with this print but I'm not sure about matting yet.

This molding is pretty nice.
