My pal Sail (pronounced Sigh-eel) has been doing some pretty great art for the past couple years. His forte is ink on paper, with some acrylic thrown in. I interviewed him for my site a few months back (link in sig). Last year he completed a 30-days of drawing exercise with Ashley Wood and both of their works will be featured in a book coming out soon, published by 3A.

His first book Small Hotel is out of print, but Vol. 2 will be printed shortly.

He has a blogspot: http://uselessarm.blogspot.com/
And just started a tumblr: http://uselessarm.tumblr.com/

For inquiries, please email uselessarm@gmail.com

He is also thinking about having some prints made of his work, but isn't sure the interest is there. Drop him a line if you would be interested in picking something up in the future.

Some examples of his work

Thanks for this thread. I just posted a comment on his blog to ask him to make some prints. Any idea what his original drawings go for?

Very reasonable. Low hundreds for small stuffs and it goes up from there depending on size. I would just ask him by email or whatever if you had a size in mind.

So I was at Sail's place today trying to convince him to make some low run prints but he still isn't sure people would buy them. He did have a 1-off print of the first piece in my OP just sitting there though. I told him he should sign it 1/1 and sell it. It is pretty large too. Start bothering him.

Those pics you posted (OP) are awesome! I would definitely pick up a print of his if they were reasonably priced. I'm a big fan of ink on paper so I dig his style. I really like the 2nd image you posted.

..was finally able to acquire a piece from Sail. he doesn't like to sell anything of his. he's very attached to his work and i f.uckin dig that. he views all of his work as extensions of himself. very similar to phlegm in his view on selling, creation and non conforming to the masses. he is, however, working on putting together a "book" of sorts that should be released sometime in the next 6 months. don't quote me on that. check his blog, listed above. his everyday drawings are absolutely stunning and would make any human with an eye for beauty proud to display it in their home. i've just uploaded the piece that i've purchased and will post MANY more once i receive it. its a 1/1. i'm in heaven. Sail, you rule.

I agree completely. I wish that he'd just make a big cartel page and throw up some of his unwanted sketches every now and then.

yep, thats what we all want. its just not his style. none of his pieces are unwanted and he loves ALL OF THEM. kind of beautiful actually; an artist that is so attached to their work and even though there is money to be made, demand from the masses and all that, won't or hasn't yet let that decide the path they take.

Cool! Would like to see what you got. On his blog he posted that he would be trying out a small print run this summer. Hope it works out for him.
