Indeed. Still kicking myself for not picking up an OG 3 or so years ago. Nearly happened.

This is probably my favorite work of his from his last roq solo show. While I agree that the price point may seem a bit high, this is very low # release, coming from a very highly regarded gallery, from which Sail's last show's pieces completely sold out (I think). He's catapulted himself out of relative obscurity in the pacific northwest art scene rather quickly. It's also a fine illustrative art market. So, with all of this in mind, I think one may begin to understand the pricing better…perhaps some of the sticker shock comes from the fact that just a couple of years ago he was selling and undervaluing his original sketches for less.

The deal with the sig. is not a new one…the sketches I've bought from him were actually unsigned. I asked him to sign them, which he did on the back. It may be just his style. I think there's been too much reading into it here...

There was talk of prints in the very first page of this thread, over a year and a half ago. Don't think anyone was antsy for a /10 giclee

Can I use this a signature because it is hilariously clueless and asinine.

Would look amazing if they screened some spot varnish on top, brings life to any giclee.
À la Harrington via Lazarides.

That's a hefty cost for a giclee, btw.
Do you even realize that you're talking out of both sides of your ass?

What you're basically saying is -

"This would have looked great if it cost more to produce, but it's too expensive already."

and

"Roq la Rue and Sail should have tried to publish this more like how Laz did with Conor Harrington's giclees"

Right, because comparing someone who's making their first print to an extremely established painter working with one of the most preeminent "urban contemporary" galleries/publishers in the world is a completely fair comparison.

We get it, you don't like it and think it's too expensive. Am I missing the post where they asked for your advice on edition size, technique, and price?
