On one of my little rambles through the wildernesses of the inter-webs I stumbled upon an article about this guy from Melbourne. Looks like another seriously talented Australian painter to keep an eye on. Really liking his work a lot! The latest pieces depicting WWII thought the eyes of children of the time really struck a chord with me.

Regrettably, Michael has no print editions at the moment but I did email him about it and it’s something he’s looking into at the moment. Think I’ll definitely be grabbing a few when he gets them out!

Anyway, just thought some here might like if they’d not heard of him before.

Amazing work indeed! Definitely has the potential for a geddes-esq explosion IMO.

He asked my opinion on what might make a good first print run when I emailed him and I said I thought those ones of the kids would be popular. They’re really lovely.

Seriously talented painter, seemed like a nice guy too. Glad I stumbled across his work :D I'm sure he's probably been about for ages but finger on the pulse was never my strong suit

Good find! :D

Think I’ll hang out for one of the Fighter Pilot pieces though, as don’t really have the $220 at the moment.

Yeah, top one is my favourite there. It’s amazing!

Saying that though my finger is currently hovering over purchase on that print... I’m off to check the exchange rate

Epic stuff. Love the birds and the crashed fighter planes. Whats also cool is that you get an embossment that says "This is Stupid Krap".

No can’t do it, must be good  . £145 is just a little too steep at the moment. Would have jumped on one of the other images for that but that one doesn’t quite grab me to that amount of money. Nice tiny edition though.

It's not sold out yet.

Might not be around long mind as that show seems to have gone down really well and Arrested Motion did a piece this week too:

But I just broke on it so there is definitely at least one less now  Had a feeling I'd regret not picking it up, as if he releases more prints of the kids I'd like to have the whole set to hang together.

I like the artist and his work, but that print is just a little too dark and disturbing for me...

Want the downed planes as prints though!
