It seems like a good time to start up an Art Discussion on the industrious Mr. Amory, artist, creator of the Waiting series of oil paintings, and winner of AOTW this week.

Post whatcha got: art releases, commentary, scuttle butt, drunken ramblings, drum solos, etc.

Brett's a friend and a rad dude, and he's blown up over the past two years or so -- and he deserves it. Here's a bunch of info...

These three links come from good friend Shaun Roberts, you might have seen his name in Jux...

Start here and keep clicking the next photo for some studio stuff in advance of the Jonathan Levine "Dark Light" show:

Video of the Lazarides/Outsiders prep:

Photos of the work...while Brett plays drums:

Shots I took before Dark Light:

Shots I took from a one-night-only display of some HUGE Waiters, which were later wheatpasted all over SF and I think Oakland:

A massive piece he put together for 941 Geary's Indoor Mural Project:

Portrait by (again) Shaun Roberts:

Thanks for the links, mistersmith.

Last Minute Push is a great little video vignette - Shaun has some talent as a videographer. That 1000-yard all nighter look is unmistakable

Great colors and composition in this study, IMO.

Love that there's an Amory thread here on EB. Here's an article I wrote last year when I visited his studio - http://hifructose.com/the-blog/656-bret ... iting.html

Not exactly. The image you posted is a painting on canvas about 8 feet tall, the link you posted is a similar image on mylar about 10x12 inches.

Dude, you need to find another hobby. Messing with me won't be a rewarding one.

And everyone -- including the crew with the colored usernames -- is on to your game where you provoke someone into crossing a line, so you can then report them and try to get them a temp/perma ban. It's a game I'm not going to play. So just drymount off already, and welcome to my ignore list.
