I've been watching this guy for a while and I'm getting real close to pulling the trigger on some of his prints. I remember watching all those Geddes prints just sit there for months and months... while I waited. Then all of the sudden the hype train started rolling and it was too late. I get the same vibe here...this work is just too amazing to go unnoticed. They are a little pricey but the edition size of 30 is quite small.

My question is: Anybody have any of these? How do they look in person?

he's certainly getting more recognition but I wouldn't expect the hype to take off on him like it did for geddes. However, if/when these prints sell out I also wouldn't expect to see them come back up for resale very often.

Can't answer your question about quality but he also has a few prints available through virtu art gallery.

I really enjoy Martin's work a lot. I've seen some of his originals at Copro in Santa Monica, CA and they are mind blowing - especially considering the sheer physical size of many of his pieces. Dude's got mad skills.... and people are certainly becoming more aware of him by the day. Doesn't hurt he's gotten the cover of Hi Fructose and just put together his "Dark Waters" group show and had Josh Keyes involved.

That polar bear is great, with all of the global warming symbolism. Funny that you mention Geddes as a comparison.

Jem's style is rougher strokes but from a distance the image still has amazing detail

Martin seems to use finer brush strokes but I don't have any OG close-ups for comparison

However, you can't have a contest without bringing Aaron Horkey into the running. When you see the insane level of detail he achieves at such a small scale it's nothing short of mind-blowing.
