Can I assume you're creating this in Adobe Illustrator?
Photoshop actually. Been meaning to get myself into Illustrator for a while now, but old photoshop habits die hard. I did do this at 600 DPI at 24x36 with color separated- just in case I ever decided to print it- which judging from the warm reaction I'm getting is a possibility :D

If you look at the step by step process in the previous posts you can see the sketches and doodles from the Photoshop brush XD

Those could've been sketches and doodles done with custom Illustrator brushes. :P

If you want to turn your artwork into Illustrator format down the road, I can help you. Color separation is easy in Illustrator, too.

I've worked in Illustrator since Illustrator CS. I also work in Photoshop a lot, but for different things.

Just let me know!

What's the file size of this psd file?

Gotta also ask why 600 dpi? Isn't most print jobs 300? (I'm a video guy so I live in a 72 dpi world)

Haha yah I'm insane that way. Yah, 300 DPI is the usual fare for print, but I don't know. I like working on a higher DPI just in case I need a bigger print out of anything. Kinda been a habit. It's pretty easy to scale down, but I don't want to be in the situation where it has to scale up. Also why it's at 24 x 36, but if it comes out in print I'd probably settle at 18 x 24. I'll have to get back to you on the file size but since it's only got 5 or so colors it wasn't as huge as it could have been thus 600. Had it been a digital painting, I probably would have settled at 400 or 300 dpi just to keep the software running smooth.

I understand you want to get the highest quality print possible, but at that size, there's no reason at all to go above 300 DPI. :P

If you were printing on a canvas or printing a billboard on the other hand . . .

Yah you're probably right XD Old habits I guess. Back in High School I was mistakenly under the impression to go as big DPI as possible. Hahah. Should probably stick to maybe 3-400 next time

Troof. Also the separations for this one weigh in at around 200kb per color in bitmap mode. Kevin just likes to make his computer cry.
