Scott Pilgrim. Beautiful metallics and a wildly underrated movie poster.

One of the most unfortunate losses from the Mondo Talk panel (along with that godfather) was Tong's Galactus that never saw the light of day, due to rights issues.

You can't see it very well in these photos, but that's silver surfur busting through the scene at the bottom. The detail shots on that were incredible.
So it goes...

With rights issues, surely Mondo would know prior to the show what IP's they have the rights for and what they don't?

Glad to see Tong's Enter the Void print come to light.

Well, see that's the thing. What Justin was saying is, right after they acquired the Marvel license, they went through and just listed all the cool stuff they wanted to put prints out for. Galactus was one of the ones that they really wanted to do. Tong put together this sweet piece, but then in the end Marvel had to kill it because of their tenuous relationship with Fox Studios who owns the rights to the Fantastic Four movies, which apparently includes cinematic rights to Galactus. To appease that situation, Mondo pulled the piece.
So it goes...

Ah, interesting. Thanks for clarifying that. That's really frustrating. Just as frustrating as the Disney show must have been for people like Daniel Danger, Landland and Jay Ryan. 'Yeah, you can have those licenses' - two months later - 'no, you can't release that really great looking artwork'.
