Screen or Giclee Print?

I prefer prints by a long shot, but I am happier than all get out with this:

(A) Screen Prints

or

(B) Digital Giclees

I personally vote (A) Screen Prints because I like things that are made by hand. There's something very impersonal and cold feeling about a digital print.

depends on subject matter... movie and concert posters I go with screen print... almost all artist prints, I go giclee

you need the right tool for the job.

keep in mind a lot of screen printing is done on automatic presses these days. lots of the steps once done by hand have been automated.

there are also a lot more things done by hand on giclees than people give credit for. proofing to make the print exactly match a painting is a specialized art that most people can't do or aren't good at. after the giclee is made, at least in our studio, each one is individually flattened and cut by hand, where we cut the screen prints in one big stack on a giant machine.

Good on you but not necessarily something to brag about. At a certain point the cost/benefit doesn't work out any more when considering the bodily wear/injury of hand pulling.

That car screen print is amazing! But $5000 each? Not for everyone obviously.

It's wild how much prints can be. Gemini G.E.L pieces are so beautiful and HUGE, but so pricey.
