I'll need a copy of this so that I can see and feel the difference between discharge and plastisol inks. Thanks!

Varied concentrations of discharge can give you different effects on the garment. But if its color you're looking for, you can do a discharge underbase with water based inks on top. This way, you can get bright colors on a dark shirt with relatively no hand.

Also, the shirt material will make the discharge work differently. Discharge removes pigment from cotton fabric the best, so on a 100% cotton shirt, you can get close to 100% white, while on a cotton/poly 50/50 or a tri-blend you end up with a really nice heather grey effect.

I've also heard that discharge will work strangely on certain pigments, like purple apparently will barely discharge at all no matter how concentrated your ink is. But my personal experience is all with Black shirts.

Sounds pretty awesome. Why are some companies afraid to use it? Is it more dangerous if mishandled?

As far as I know, they are no more dangerous than plastisols. The company I work for is afraid of it because, frankly, our printers aren't skilled enough to mix it consistently. Once mixed, it has a limited shelf life, and the printers here would nine times out of ten mix it in with the remaining ink in the bucket and contaminate the whole batch. We have trouble with consistent PMS colors and halftones, let alone something as reactive as discharge ink. We are primarily collegiate and sportswear based, and theres a definite quantity over quality mentality that comes with that. Anything out of the box gets shut down pretty quickly.

Otherwise, discharge rules. Every shirt in the world should be printed with it.

If it was more in the $40 price range I would be into it but I don't know about $60 for a logo design.

Best black metal logo ever for the most terrible music :hanging:
Won't be in a position to sell for a few months. Not likely before end of May 2014 please don't pm and ask.
