Oh no worries. I definitely paused in doing the variant and tried silver instead of golds along with different background colors but didn't like that too much. I kinda went into this knowing that this would be a foil and not a FOIL!... if that makes any sense...
definitely makes sense. it's great you hear your (the artists) thought process on prints.. what works, what doesn't.. etc

Hey Todd, May I Ask Which Printer You Use?

Sure, this one was Lady Lazarus.
I use D&L of course too and like Monolith also. I've heard great things about Seizure Palace as well. There's a list somewhere in a FB group with all the screen printers in the US... I'll try and dig that up if you want.

Great insight, Todd. Thanks! I often wonder whether an artist is designing their images with the paper/stock of variants in mind, or if they decide on and choose their variant stock(s) after the image has been created.
I always defer to someone who's wearing a beater, regardless of what else he's wearing.

BLSQ is really good, I agree. I heard they are quite booked up, however (though it never hurts to inquire).

Right right... I've heard that too. I talked to Wes at Flatstock and he did say that they are taking jobs depending on the week. Their booth looked really good with all those Baizley prints.
I've noticed a ripple effect due to Mondo's influence (I think) where a number of newer print houses are popping up doing really good stuff.

Thank you very much Todd. I was always curious as to which printers artists usually use for gigposters. I know your mondo stuff is with D&L but was always curious about your non-mondo stuff. In regards to burlesque, I remember Jay Shaw saying they were the best, but I don't think Burlesque does separations (you'd have to give it to them screenprint ready). with so many people doing prints nowadays, I know the popular ones are all booked up. D&L I think, you need a hook-up to get through, as well as Static. Burlesque has a long queue.
