I am a big fan of Penny's work and own quite a few of his pieces on US currency. His recent show was a great success by all accounts, and I'm bummed I couldn't make it across the pond for it. I was able to snag a "Mind Wanders" online from R&R before they sold out though... so all is not lost.

I'm shocked he doesn't get more EB love.

P.S. He is personally a top notch guy. Chat with him regularly via email and FB, and he is an A+ human.

Penny is showing at the 2012 Moniker Art Fair in London pretty soon via Rook and Raven. They just posted the catalog and put a few select Penny pieces up on their website. Hurry if you are interested. His stuff is usually gone in a heartbeat.

"Showered in Gold" is already gone... but everything else is still available. An AMAZING Frankenstein piece for Uni Monster fans. About $1,200 for it....

I genuinely don't get Pennys art or pricing.

Out of interest, what's his appeal to you guys?

I find his work amazing. He's got insane skills with a knife, and it's unreal to me these are all hand cut; the level of detail is off the grid. His work is definitely something to be seen in person. If you've never actually seen one of his bills... please reserve judgement until you have. Plus, I like the subject matter of many of his pieces - hot babes, classic cinema and inspiration from Luis Ricardo Falero.

Plus, he's a great guy as a person. Nice to deal with and deserves his success.

In terms of pricing, his stuff sells out in a flash usually... so demand > supply for sure. It takes him such intense amount of time and effort to create these pieces... that will certainly always be true.

Incredible amount of detail in a very small amount of space. I appreciate the amount of work it takes to cut an 8 layer stencil that fits on a dollar bill.

I also like how he incorporates the existing images on the currency into his idea, combining the two to make one cohesive images. As with any artist, some works are better than others.

As far as pricing goes, you could say that about almost any artist but at least with his work you know it's all intricately hand done and not just an image sent off to a screenprinter.

Stencil artist will always have my respect!

Thanks guys.
I didn't realize they were 8+ layer stencils, that goes quite a ways to explaining the work behind them.
My price question is probably just because the imagery doesn't really resonate with me (outside of the boobs, i like boobs).

I'd definitely like to see one in person and I have seen some phenomenal framed pics.

For the money, "You Money or Your Wife" is looking pretty good as well.
