The "Mondo" name, thus it's collectability and flippablitly. Real lovers of an artist check the artist's site too.

I defer to the veterans members on this one for a more scientific answer, but a lot of it likely has to do with:

1. The artist lacking Mondo's hype
2. A lot of the fervent fans have already bought one before knowing if/when the artist would eventually release an AP (and now don't need a second more expensive signed version).
3. Whining people, i.e. - "true DESERVING fans!!!111" on the Facebook page (thankfully) don't come over to EB unless someone recommends it as a place to get "cheap, non-scalper eBay prices" = they don't know enough to go to the individual artist's site to check for APs even though they missed out on the initial sale.

4. It costs an extra $35 versus getting it on Mondotees

People buy them from mondo thinking they'll be able to flip them for big $$$. By the time the AP's are released it's obvious there's no money to be made (unless there is, in which case the APs sell out immediately too)

Plus, Mondo is no Big Cartel. Thus nothing is cart horded on Mondo. That usually equals instasellout regardless of failip or not in most cases. However, the AP run's are much much lower than a standard run. So, one would assume that they not only hold a higher original value, but will maybe eventually hold a higher secondary value.
And to comment on #3 there. Yes, a majority of fans don't know to check for AP's, and usually pay well more than the AP asking price on ebay. Then they realize one day and it's  but then it's moving right along......
Anyway, for me, I'll take a reg run on most artists, but my favorites, I go for AP's regardless of price if the image is fantastic and 100% support the artist.

Checking the "allow product overselling" button on BC eliminates the cart hoarding. The seller just needs to monitor sales closely to avoid overselling.

Holy fudge I couldn't agree less about the placement on that list (I'd put that one around 93rd place for the year) but right on regardless 8)
