NECKFACE

is he worth investing in for the future... or is he gonna fall by the way side like so many others....
Had to look him up. Not my style. Doesn't seem to have any message like a Banksy or other artists. Just seems to like his name in a particular way.

i hear ya....... a message / seems to equal a bit of longevity amongst so many mediocre artists..
I went to a Neckface art opening at the Luggage Store in SF CA in 2005. I remember saying "it'll be interesting to see where he'll be in 5 yrs."
Although I didn't buy any art, I did buy his book "Satan's Bride" which I think was published by KAWS.
What I do... is try to buy art I like, and if I happen to meet the artist I hope I like him/her as well.

I would say, don't buy a neckface because you don't seem to like his work. The art market is very cyclical and the majority of people end up buying high and selling low.
Neckface rules. Street art will hit the gutter again, and then one day it'll be back on top, it's the nature of all things.

i would say, buying any street art right now, is buying high. Give it a couple years for it to lose flavor again.
seems to be fading as it is now...talkingdeads wrote:i would say, buying any street art right now, is buying high. Give it a couple years for it to lose flavor again.

i dumped everything i had over the course of the last year, with the exception a three personal pieces that i don't plan to ever sell.
I'm assuming (hoping) i will be able to buy back most of it at a fraction of the cost in the next three years.

i won't post them, it would be an endless stream of pm's to me for the next few years from various people asking if they're for sale or trade.
