Given the options, 1 & 3 are straight out. Coin toss for me on 2 or 4.

Weird that they only have glossy black. Find a new framer unless that’s just how they do it down unda.
When I got my XL Geddes framed, my options were like three mattes and three frames. XL options, like Shaq buying sneakers.

Good point. Probably only have gaudy frames for such size pieces. They figure the owners are czars or at least barons.

Yep, heaps of limitations particularly on the mat. The largest matte black frame they had was maybe 2" or 1.5" wide, which looks pathetic on a print this size.

In that case, number 4.

Yah, leaning 4 with those restrictions. Still think 3 could work with a second reverse-bevel inner/under mat
just a foil for me today, thanks

I actually like 1, less flashy. But 4 is probably the right one.

Some people have suggested floating it in front of a white mat/board, and using a simple black frame. I don't mind the idea of that.
Or just using a spacer/no mat at all.
This avoids trying to match the black mat with the print, and reduces the cost too. That no4 frame job was quoted at $2k.

Thoughts?

floating on a single mat with a black frame sounds good. They could even paint the mat in that subtle light peach colour from the artwork.

As it is, I'm leaning towards 4. I'd like to see # 1, but with a simple rectangular black wood frame.

Personally, I don't think I'd float this. The white area would end up looking like a really thin mat.

Hey, so did I get taken for a ride? I put a down-payment on those statues, haven't heard a word since October.

Anyone got info?
