First time on this forum,

Have been interested in Fairey's work and was looking around places to buy online. I saw a Vive Le Rock and Peace & Freedom, signed and numbered print on Christies auction site last month and the combined estimate for these was $3000-5000.

Have Christies grossly over estimated the price on this? Is there something which makes the Christies one so much more?

Where is a good place to get a good price value ball-park figure for his work?

Here is the price history

If someone gave me $5k and told me the only thing I could buy is that print at Christies and it would cost all $5k, this would be my response:

How can a respectable business give such a groundless and outrageous estimate? I don't get it

I was on a cruise and saw some donkey lay out $10k for two Rembrandt etchings. So I go up to the auctioneer and ask when they were printed and he says 2014. I think I threw up a little in my mouth. Had the buyer not been such a smug prick I would have told him that they were worth little more than the paper they were printed on. As they saying goes, there is a sucker born every minute.

Oof! Cruisers are easy marks, though. And why are they always selling art on those things?

I had the premium beverage package, went to every auction, and bought nothing. It was a cruise to Bermuda so you had an entire day at sea with nothing to do. We chose to drink premium liquor and people watch at these things. Mr. Rembrandt was the only real mark. Very few people bought something. Lots of Peter Max, Tarkay etc. There wasn't one thing there I couldn't get off the ship for half the price.
