George mentioned that he made art and said he might want to stop by my studio in LA sometime and I thought he was just being cordial, but sure enough, he has dropped by a couple of times! We talked about music, including drug raids and police harassment when he toured with fellow Detroit natives The MC5. We also talked about me doing a portrait of him and the time finally came when I was asked to be part of a P-Funk art show. “Flash Light” is one of my favorite Parliament songs, so I riffed on that as an opportunity to put the spotlight on a musical hero of mine who happens to be a very cool and funny guy. - Shepard

George Clinton Flash Light. 18 x 24 inches. #ScreenPrint. Signed by #ShepardFairey. Edition of 450. $65. Available Thursday, December 1 at 10AM (PST) on ObeyGiant.com in Store under Prints. Limit 1 per household.

Too bad George Clinton didn't sign them too.
Would have been a good one to add to the collection.

Anyone interested in purchasing an open edition OBEY print (still available for $30.00 on the OBEY website) at auction, current bid stands at $700.00 .....the auction ends in just over an hour. You would think a reputable auction house would know better than to allow this to happen.

Why would they want to turn down a commission? Seems like it's the buyers responsibility to know what they are bidding on. Especially for an online auction when a few clicks would give you the details. :shrug

Just to look professional... this could turn off a lot of collectors from a moral stance. Unless they just want to become ebay.

It does state 'Open Edition,' but they should probably just not allow editions still available for sale from the artist/retailer.

the auction also states that it's a screen print which is wrong.
