Loving the use of organic imagery combined with the geometric in the first. Guess those margins are supposed to connote murals but I really don't like them on these prints. Love the deckled edges too though!

First one has a pleasant neutral look, not much OBEY vibe. The 2nd one never should have been created, then in large format? 'While Supplies Last' was one of the few I bought last year but the collage ruins anything that was good about it.

I'm starting to think MBW has more of a hand in his artwork than LA Shep. Last year was lackluster for BLOWUPS aside from ADD FUEL and the Art Shows. Florals set was sexyif that was last year. Just slim pickins compared to his normal body of work

IMO they could be better, cheaper, and have twice the bleeding. Even the fine art versions for this imagery, so far, isn't super compelling.

Shep basically spent 2022 making huge fine art pieces for museum shows, and most of it wasn't even for sale. And now, his new obsession is making big murals. Overall, prints and print designs probably suffered as a result. Curious to see what 2023 holds.

I didn't think 2023 was that bad of a year. We got some nice images but also some not so nice. I think that's been pretty normal for awhile for Shepard. He does have a very high output and not everyone can be another Universal Dignity. I do think there is some nice stuff in the works, based on the Rubyliths in the Dallas show and his large portraits in Munich.

They are both still up at Obey . IMHO the figurative one with the girl would be better if cropped to
only have the one flower by her head, a tighter squarer composition , which has been his recent OG format trend ...
I think the second one with the bird is OK , it has a rhythm to the abstract geometrical design
so you can enjoy letting you eye move about the image , and the bird and flowers soften and add a bit of poetry
to the hard geometric forms . I'd probably buy it if it was 24x36 .

Is there a technical psychological term for this? Like, it's still not selling, so people talk about it more and more because of how bad it's doing, and that's what finally gets it over the finish line? Not exactly like the streisand effect but

Abstract art is more of a Rorschach ink blot test and every viewer sees it differently , and find their pleasure or dislike in the shapes colors textures and imagery.
Fairey fans are more. accustomed to seeing figurative people images And pretty girl will surely sell every image …
These prints are another breed of cat , and I’m sure many of them are already sold. … the size is the biggest drawback.

I believe that's called the Easy E effect.
