Zipping through Berkeley yesterday I made a point of looking for the Obey pastup that's been hidden in plain site for decades and it's still there

PAINT IT BLACK AVAILABLE TUESDAY, JANUARY 14TH!
Here's a new Paint it Black piece that I'm releasing as a larger-sized letterpress print next Tuesday. I’ve made a few Paint it Black themed images, but unfortunately, the topic remains in need of urgent address and action!
Paint it Black, in addition to referencing a great Rolling Stones song, is about oil dictating too much of our energy policy and our foreign policy. Imagine if all the money spent on wars and strategic interests in the Middle East had been spent on developing green energy alternatives? Instead, our government subsidizes the highly profitable oil and gas industries for $40 billion a year, because no politician wants a rise in the price of gas to be blamed on them. Newsflash: we are still paying more for gas whether it’s at the pump or through our taxes. The need for gas will remain, but we need to invest in sustainable energy alternatives as we transition off of the finite supply of fossil fuels that are also terrible for CO2 emissions. Proceeds from this print will go to @nrdc_org to support their efforts to shape responsible environmental policy. Thanks for caring.
Paint it Black Letterpress on cream cotton paper with hand-deckled edges. 14.5 x 19 inches. Signed by Shepard Fairey. Numbered edition of 450. $80. A portion of proceeds will go to @nrdc_org. Obey publishing chop in lower left corner. Available Tuesday, January 14th @ 10AM PDT at store.obeygiant.com/collections/prints. Max order: 1 per customer/household. *Orders are not guaranteed as demand is high and inventory is limited.* Multiple orders will be refunded. International customers are responsible for import fees due upon delivery. ALL SALES FINAL.
The bots will scoop them all up but they will be a tough resell. My guess is 4 weeks after the drop you can pick one up for $100.

Yes! I agree Shep puts more thought and care into the 24/36 recent prints
The way I see it, The bots/ sneaker kids scoop up most of the drop. They are not collectors
so they want to flip all of them , and in a few weeks they are racing for the bottom, looking for lunch money
For me, I am avoiding most of the mediocre prints entirely, and surprised to see how many prints are selling at cost...
I am waiting for good long term prints like " Raise the Level" ,Fan the flames" and buying them at the low ebb
of prices . some have sold very cheap . And I bought several of each on ebay to hang on to
as compared to so many of the boring "yawn" prints , the good ones may be a good investment. Who knows
I wonder , With so much advanced tech out there , why cant the bots be blocked ?
any constructive comments welcome, cheers
