Most of Danger's stuff is way too dark. That's why I've cut back on buying his stuff. I can't hang THAT much dark art in my house. Love a lot of it but too much darkness unfortunately. Too much darkness makes me sad.

T.V on the Radio, Richmond, by Status Serigraph.
The jpeg image is extremely vibrant, saturated and contrasted, the poster I got was the opposite, dull colors, flat, washed out, a very big disappointment for a poster with potential.

Not that it disapoints but when Malleus used to sell their posters without showing the real photo only the jpg it was always nice to see that in person they look better, but now that they even show the process all the fun falls down

the fire just looked washed out to me and very flat in person compared to the online images.. the blue flame version met up to my expectations much better!

I have to agree with you on How Can We Hope To Float. I loved the image online but it's WAY too dark in person. I think I sold mine the day after I got it because I was so upset about it. I kept the handbill though, I've been thinking about putting a small LED in a frame behind the print, it looks really awesome backlit.

I got myself overly excited by the jpeg, but the backgroud really disappointed IRL. The little dots are really distracting.

agree there. the basterds print was my first pm and it's a piece of crap. the Inglorious basterds text has been pasted on, you can see a black box around it. the color is pretty poor and my print isnt even cut square at the bottom. always thought their stuff looked piss but getting something in person blew me away in the wrong way. seriously, anyone want it?

For what it's worth, the text is supposed to look pasted on. I think they basically use scissors and a copy machine to make their designs.
Print Mafia wrote:We make our posters the old fashioned way - we design without the use of computers (well sometimes we get our typefaces there), and hand pull each color of our silksreened editions. Our tools are Xacto knives, copy machines and our archive of found images and illustrations - Old School Cut and Paste. Our posters have the look, feel, and texture of having been unearthed from another time and place-but what always "gets people" is that what we do is for very modern, present-day events.

it is a matter of taste i suppose. personally i don't like any of their stuff, but a lot of people seem to be really crazy about it.
