^ Same. First time I heard about it. And yes, I wouldn’t watch it based on the reviews.

I haven't watched it since it was new but remember enjoying it quite a bit at the time. I'm sure the drugs didn't hurt. Been wanting to watch it again for a while.

There is an directors cut that might actually come out. He was out there talking it up recently.

Imo it hits way better today than it did at launch.

oh its a wacky movie. i couldn't recommend it to most. but i love it. saw it like...4-5 times in theaters. its wild.

ignore reviews. see what looks interesting to you.

but if you want to see a movie that deals with america at the brink of an apocalypse that feels like a fever dream with pop music and zany science fiction it might be the movie for you.

its like donnie darko but weirder.

What's the Cannes cut? I have a digital copy of it I haven't watched. Only version I have seen was the dvd.

i honestly can't think of the last time i read a review before seeing a movie.

southland tales is not a movie id suggest to most people. but its tale of an impending apocalypse and political unrest is more prescient today than when it came out.

but ISO the 'im a pimp and pimps don't commit suicide' boxer santaros cut out.

It's more than that. He wants to put footage and the comics all back in

The gallery opening video on Instagram was hilarious. When he asked his son for a refill on his drink, I LOL'd. Cool stuff.

Went for the poster, then decided to grab a sticker pack as well (like I don’t have enough) and went back. Tried one set -> sold out; tried another -> sold out while checking out. In the end, decided to pass on the poster too. Lol.
